Gurugram: Two years after the first phase of the regional rapid transit system’s Delhi-Alwar corridor (RRTS), which will run between Delhi and the Shahjahanpur-Neemrana-Behror (SNB) urban complex in Rajasthan, was approved by the state governments of Haryana and Rajasthan, with civil works on the project yet pending final approval from the Centre.
According to National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC) officials, Haryana and Rajasthan had approved the detailed project reports (DPRs) for the corridor in February and June 2019 respectively, following which the document was sent to the central government for approval. .

“The DPR of Delhi-Gurugram-SNB RRTS corridor has been approved by the respective State Governments and is under active consideration of the Central Government for approval. However, we are doing pre-construction work at this stage so that we can start civil work as soon as we get the approval. Once we get the approval, we will be able to start civil work within a month,” said an NCRTC official. in pre-construction activities Gurugram That includes relocating or modifying utilities and widening roads wherever necessary, officials said.
So far, officials have identified 22 electric high-tension (EHT) lines that are violating the corridor and need to be shifted for “seamless construction” and operation. Of these, 12 are being shifted by NCRTC, remaining 10 are being shifted by Power Grid Corporation of India in coordination with local authorities.
NCRTC is also shifting some power distribution lines between Indian Drugs and Pharmaceuticals Limited (IDPL) office to Dundahera. Rajiv Chowk, About 80 percent of its work has been completed.
With reference to road widening for the elevated section of the corridor, officials said it is focusing on the section between the IDPL office and Atul Kataria Chowk, where about 90 per cent of the work has been completed.
In the first phase of RRTS, priority is being given to three corridors – Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut, Delhi-Gurugram-SNB-Alwar and Delhi-Panipat.
