China is increasing its nuclear force very rapidly. This has been revealed in the report of the US Defense Department Pentagon. It said that China is increasing its nuclear stockpile much faster than what US officials had estimated a year ago.

The report says that within 6 years, the number of Chinese nuclear weapons could increase to 700, which will reach more than 1000 by 2030. It did not say how many nuclear weapons China has today, but a year ago the Pentagon said that number could be closer to 200, which is likely to double by the end of this decade.

No openly suggesting conflict with China
The report does not openly suggest a conflict with China, but does highlight America’s concerns about the People’s Liberation Army. The Chinese desire to challenge the US military in all areas of war (air, land, sea, space and cyberspace). At the same time, US officials have also expressed concern over China’s attitude towards Taiwan.

China lays fiber optic network in Himalayas
This report has been named ‘Military and Security Developments Developing People’s Republic of China 2021’. It has been told that during India’s border standoff on the LAC in 2020, China established a fiber optic network in remote areas of the Himalayas. Its purpose was to speed up communication and be alert about foreign infiltration.

Due to the confrontation on the LAC, the Chinese army had also deployed a large number of soldiers on the border.

The report also mentions China’s missile test
The Pentagon’s report is based on information gathered up to December 2020. It said nothing about the Chinese hypersonic weapons test last summer, which General Mark Mealy raised concerns in October. He said it was a disturbing move. However, the report mentioned China’s DF-17 medium-range ballistic missile, which was equipped with a hypersonic glide vehicle.
