18,346 corona virus cases registered in India in last 24 hours, lowest in 209 days

Corona Case Update: Maintaining the decline in coronavirus cases for the past few days, 18,346 new cases have been reported in India in the last 24 hours. According to the Union Health Ministry, the cases reported on Tuesday are the lowest in 209 days.

The country’s active cases account for less than 1% of the total cases and it is currently at 0.75% which is the lowest since March 2020.

India’s active caseload stands at 2,52,902, the lowest in 201 days.

The country’s recovery rate is showing an increase and is currently at 97.93% which is the highest since March 2020

In the last 24 hours, 29,639 patients have been cured, taking the total number of cured people to 3,31,50,886.

Kerala

Kerala, which has been showing a decline in daily fresh cases after crossing the 30,000 mark after the Onam festival in August, on Monday recorded less than 10,000 cases – 8,850 to be exact – and 149 deaths, taking the caseload to 47,29,083. and took the toll to 25,526, PTI reported.

One of the possible reasons for the fresh cases falling below the 10,000 mark could be fewer tests conducted on Sunday than on other days of the week.

An official press release said the number of people who have recovered from the infection since Sunday stood at 17,007, taking the total number of recoveries to 45,74,206 and the number of active cases to 1,28,736.

74,871 samples were tested in the last 24 hours.

Among the 14 districts, Thiruvananthapuram reported the highest number of cases at 1,134, followed by Thrissur (1,077) and Ernakulam (920).

Maharashtra

Maharashtra on Monday reported 2,026 fresh COVID-19 cases, the lowest since February 2 and 26 deaths, taking the number of infections and death toll to 65,62,514, a health department official said. 1,39,233.

On February 2, Maharashtra had recorded 1,927 COVID-19 cases.

Compared to Sunday, when Maharashtra reported 2,692 COVID-19 cases and 41 fatalities, the state saw a slight decline in the number of infections as well as deaths due to coronavirus infection.

The official said as 5,389 patients were discharged from hospitals in the last 24 hours, the number of cured cases in Maharashtra rose to 63,86,059, taking the active cases in the state to 33,637.

Maharashtra’s case recovery rate is now 97.31 percent while the death rate is 2.12 percent.

With 1,15,450 new tests, the cumulative number of samples tested in Maharashtra rose to 5,93,37,713, the official said.
