Lemon, which was once common, has now become special. When its rates started touching the sky, now looting has started happening. The first case of lemon theft from an orchard in Uttar Pradesh has been registered in Kanpur. Thieves stole 15 thousand lemons from the garden of Bithoor here.
Lemon is cultivated in large quantity on the banks of Ganga Katri in Bithoor, about 15 km from the headquarters, that is why with the increase in the rate, farmers have now deployed lathes to take care of lemons. There are 50 Lathes guarding the garden daily. On these, 22 thousand 500 rupees are being spent every day at the rate of 450 rupees.
Lemon has been stolen in two more districts
Earlier, cases of lemon theft were reported in Shahjahanpur and Bareilly. Thieves stole 50 kg of lemons on Sunday night from Delapir Mandi in Bareilly. At the same time, 60 kg lemon was stolen from Bajaria vegetable market in Shahjahanpur. Along with this, the thief had also taken 40 kg of onion and 38 kg of garlic.
