13,468 new cases of Kovid-19 were reported in Kerala, 117 people died. Thiruvananthapuram News – Times of India

Kochi: Kerala Thursday reported more than 10,000 fresh COVID-19 Cases in the state continued for the second day with 13,468 new infections taking the caseload to 53,17,490. The southern state had reported 12,742 cases a day earlier.
According to a government release, Kerala also reported 117 deaths on Thursday, taking the total death toll in the state to 50,369.
Of the deaths, 21 were recorded in the last few days and 96 were designated as Covid-19 deaths after receiving an appeal based on the Centre’s new guidelines and the Supreme Court’s directions.
With 3,252 more people recovering from the virus since Wednesday, the total number of cured people has gone up to 52,11,014.
Although the number of recoveries was very low in comparison to the new Covid-19 cases, the active cases rose to 64,529, the release said.
66,796 samples were tested in the last 24 hours.
in 14 districts, Thiruvananthapuram Ernakulam (2,394), Kozhikode (1,274), Thrissur (1,067) and Kottayam (913) reported 3,404 fresh cases.
The release said that of the new cases, 104 were health workers, 120 were from outside the state and 12,553 were infected which was not clear in 691.
At present, 1,57,292 people are under observation in various districts, of which 1,53,994 are in home or institutional quarantine and 3,298 are in hospitals, the release said.
