Twelve BJP MLAs from Maharashtra moved the Supreme Court on Thursday challenging the one-year suspension from the state assembly for alleged misbehavior with the presiding officer. Advocate Abhikalp Pratap Singh said that he has filed a petition in the apex court on behalf of these MLAs and he has challenged the resolution passed by the assembly to suspend these MLAs for one year. The 12 suspended members are Sanjay Kute, Ashish Shelar, Abhimanyu Pawar, Girish Mahajan, Atul Bhatkalkar, Parag Alwani, Harish Pimple, Yogesh Sagar, Jai Kumar Rawat, Narayan Kuche, Ram Satpute and Bunty Bhangadiya.

The motion to suspend these MLAs was moved by the state Parliamentary Affairs Minister Anil Parab and was passed by voice vote.
