11 tickets made from 20 personal user IDs, one arrested – Rail Hunt

Kolkata: Railway Protection Force has arrested a person who duped the Railways by black marketing of Rail E-tickets using personal user ID. During the search, 11 e-tickets were recovered from him, which were booked with 20 personal user IDs of IRCTC. The accused was carrying out the racketeering from home since last one year. According to sources, a few days back, the RPF had identified a suspicious user ID named Praval during the investigation of e-ticket brokerage.

RPF had started investigation to get to the bottom of the said ID. On the information of the informer, Sub Inspector Kaushal Kumar posted in Tarakeswar RPF post of Howrah division along with his team raided the house of a person named Chhotu De at Mayal of Paschimpara under Khanakul police station of Hooghly district on Tuesday. During investigation, when RPF opened the mail id of the said person, 11 old e-tickets were recovered in it, which were booked with personal user id and sold at exorbitant prices.

The cost of the seized ticket is said to be more than 20 thousand. RPF has also seized 20 personal user IDs from the said person. The man who duped the railways by black marketing of railway tickets was arrested. The accused used to book and sell tickets illegally for the last one year. RPF has started investigation by registering a case against the accused under 143 Railway Act.
