Jasmeet’s Reen
Jasmeet is making his first full-fledged Bollywood film Darlings. It stars Alia Bhatt, Vijay Varma, Shefali Shah and Roshan Mathew. It has been dubbed as a dark comedy and will be Alia’s first production under her banner Eternal Sunshine Productions. The film is co-produced by Shah Rukh Khan’s Red Chillies Entertainment. Jasmeet has previously worked as a writer and second unit director.
Anubhuti Kashyap
Anubhuti is currently shooting for Doctor Ji starring Ayushmann Khurrana, Shefali Shah and Rakul Preet Singh. The unit is shooting for it in Bio Bubble in Uttar Pradesh. The film is a campus comedy drama, in which two actors are playing the role of doctors. Anubhuti has previously worked as the second unit director in the cult film series Gangs of Wasseypur.
Akash Bharadwaj
Written by Akash and his filmmaker father Vishal Bhardwaj, Kutty is pegged as a caper-thriller. The film is currently in its pre-production stage and will start shooting in late 2021. It stars Arjun Kapoor, Konkona Sen Sharma, Naseeruddin Shah, Tabu, Kumud Mishra and Radhika Madan.
Avnish S Barjatya
Filmmaker Sooraj Barjatya’s son Avneesh will debut as a writer and director in his next film. This will be the 59th film of Rajshri Productions. Sunny Deol’s son Rajveer Deol is also debuting in Bollywood with this film. Avneesh has previously studied theater in the UK and worked as an assistant director. He is training under the guidance of theater and film director Firoz Abbas Khan, who is known for directing plays like Mughal-e-Azam and Tumhari Amrita. The film is ready for 2022 release.
Aarif khan
Arif will be making his directorial debut with the supernatural thriller U-Turn. It is writer-director Pawan Kumar’s Kannada original and Alaya F will play the lead in the Hindi remake. The move is supported by Ekta Kapoor’s production house Cult Movies. Arif has assisted in over ten films including Gunjan Saxena, 2 States and Student of the Year.
Divyang Thakkar
Divyang is the actor-director who will get a big feature film break with Jayeshbhai Jordaar. The film stars Ranveer Singh and Shalini Pandey in the lead roles. The film is said to be a comedy film with a social message and Ranveer plays a Gujarati businessman in it.
Colin D’Cunha
Collin is directing the upcoming Dharma Productions film Dostana 2. Lead actor Kartik Aaryan has opted out of the film and it will be shot with a replacement. Janhvi Kapoor, Lakshya and Abhishek Banerjee will be the other co-stars. Colin has assisted in films like Sanju, NH 10, Shaandaar, Bhaag Milkha Bhaag etc.
Lakshya Raj Anand
Attack Mein Lakshya is directed by action star John Abraham. The film co-stars Jacqueline Fernandez and Rakul Preet Singh and has been delayed due to the pandemic. Lakshya has previously worked as a second unit director in big budget action films like Ek Tha Tiger and Bang Bang. He is also an actor.
Varun Sharma
Varun is directing Yash Raj Films’ Bunty Aur Babli 2 starring Siddhant Chaturvedi and Sharvari Wagh. The comedy film also stars Saif Ali Khan and Rani Mukerji in cameo roles. It has been delayed several times due to the pandemic. From being an assistant director on Tiger Zinda Hai to being the script supervisor on Sultan and Kill Dil, Varun has been associated with Yash Raj Films in various capacities.
Siddharth Sengupta
Siddharth is directing Jhanvi Kapoor and Deepak Dobriyal in Good Luck Jerry. The shooting of the film has been completed and is supported by Aanand L Rai’s Color Yellow Productions. Siddharth has earlier directed the second unit in films like Agneepath Remake and Oye Lucky Lucky Oye.
Karan Singh Tyagi
Dharma Productions will direct the film based on the life of lawyer-activist C Sankaran Nair. It will highlight the legendary court battle that Shankaran Nair fought against the British Raj to uncover the truth about the Jallianwala Bagh massacre. The cast will be announced soon.
