Nagpur: In Vidarbha on Wednesday, out of 10,559 tests conducted in seven districts, not a single Covid positive case was found.
Nagpur district, which has witnessed the highest number of 4,93,288 Covid infections in the region, has not reported a new case for the first time since May 16, 2020.
The achievement of seven districts helped Vidarbha record its lowest day’s Covid tally at 12 this month and probably in the second wave that started in mid-February this year.
12 cases were reported from more than 2,800 tests. Gadchiroli tops the chart with 6 cases out of 864 tests Yavatmali on 3 out of 482 tests, Chandrapur (2/1,308) and Amravati (1/223).
No one died on Wednesday, while 16 recovered from all the five districts.
Washim: No case reported, but one patient got cured, while the toll remained unchanged in the district. Active case tally is 8.
Bhandara: No new case was reported in 700 tests in the district. There were no deaths and no patients were discharged. Two patients are undergoing treatment.
Gondia: The district did not report any Covid case, discharge or death. The number of patients undergoing treatment has come down to 4.
Buldhana: No new Covid case or death has been reported in the district. According to official figures, the district did not report any recovery. There are 15 active cases left in this.
Akola: The district did not report a new case or recovery. Active cases are 15.
Gadchiroli: 6 new cases were reported in the district but no patient was cured. It has 19 active patients.
Chandrapur: The figure of 30 active patients remained unchanged on Wednesday with the same number of two more recovering. No casualties were reported during the day. The Covid caseload has now reached 88,733, while the total recoveries stand at 87,162. A total of 1,541 patients have died in the district so far.
Amaravati: One new case and one recovery out of 223 samples tested took the district’s caseload to 96,122 and recoveries to 94,506 on Wednesday. With no deaths, the number of active cases under treatment remained at 20.
Wardha: The district reported zero new positive cases, recoveries and deaths on Wednesday. The caseload remained unchanged at 49,398 after the result of 405 test reports in the last 24 hours. Recovery and toll are 48,064 and 1,326 respectively. Four cases are active positive in the district, who are undergoing treatment.
Yavatmal: There was no death in the district on Wednesday, three positive cases and one cured.
