Statistics World recently shared the list of top companies globally based on their market capitalization and Apple ranked as the world’s largest company with a market value of $2.71 trillion.

Most of the leading positions in the ranking are held by companies located in the United States.

With a market capitalization of $2.3 trillion, Microsoft, the well-known technology giant, stands second in terms of market cap. Occupying the third spot on the list is Saudi Aramco, the largest oil producer globally. The market capitalization of Saudi Aramco is $2.1 trillion.

The world’s largest companies based on market capitalization are spread across a variety of industries such as technology, communications services, energy and financial services. Market cap is determined by multiplying the total outstanding shares of a company by the current market price per share. Many of the companies on the top-10 list generate annual revenues in the hundreds of billions of dollars.

Google’s parent company Alphabet ranks fourth in the world’s top 10 companies with a market capitalization of $1.35 trillion. Alphabet is followed by Amazon, the leading e-commerce company, with a market cap of $1.14 trillion.

Claiming the sixth spot is American multinational company Nvidia, which has a market capitalization of $711 billion. Warren Buffett’s company ranks seventh with a market cap of $703 billion, trailing closely behind Berkshire.

Facebook’s parent company Meta is ranked eighth on the list with a market capitalization of $592 billion. Elon Musk’s Tesla has a market cap of $537 billion and has secured the ninth position. Digital payments and credit card services giant Visa is the world’s 10th largest company with a market capitalization of $482 billion.
