At present there are 24 active patients of black fungus in the district, out of which seven are being treated in hospitals. Of these, three patients are admitted in Max Hospital, two each in Harsh ENT and Yashoda Hospital. Apart from this, 17 patients are being treated through OPD. Meanwhile, 63 patients have been cured, Dr Tyagi said.
Tyagi said that 24 patients are buying amphotericin B injections daily from the CMO office. “Now a cheap injection is also being given. 75 injections were received from the government on Sunday and 50 on Monday. Dr BP Tyagi, a senior ENT surgeon who has treated about 60 patients of black fungus at Harsh ENT, said that now he is getting patients whose jaws are getting affected.
