1.48 lakh appeared in Haryana Civil Services Examination at 535 centres. Chandigarh News – Times of India

Chandigarh: The Haryana as well as the government Haryana Public Service Commission (HPSC) heaved a sigh of relief as the written examination of HCS (Executive) and Allied Services was conducted smoothly across the state on Sunday.
The exam was conducted in two shifts.
Giving information in this regard, an official spokesman said that the commission had advertised for 155 posts. Haryana Civil Service (Executive Branch) and other allied services in March 2021.
A total of 1,48,262 candidates had applied for these posts which is the highest ever for the said exam. He said that a total of 535 examination centers have been set up by the commission in 13 districts of the state namely Ambala, Faridabad. Gurugram, Hisar, Kaithal, Karnal, Kurukshetra, Panchkula, Panipat, Rewari, Sirsa, Sonipat and Yamunanagar.
He said that as per the preliminary information available till the evening of September 12, 2021, 74,978 candidates had appeared in the examination. The commission had made elaborate arrangements for the smooth and fair conduct of the examination, CCTV cameras were installed in all the rooms of the examination centres. He said that the live video monitoring was done at the control room set up at HPSC Office, Panchkula. He said that the biometric attendance of all the candidates was recorded through iris scan. A thorough search of the candidates was also done to ensure that no candidate carries any electronic device or other material which can be used for violating the sanctity of the examination. Videography of all the candidates and all the important procedures were done at all the centres.
He further said that jammers have been installed at all the centers to block the mobile signal. Luggage storage facilities were also provided at the centers for the convenience of the candidates. Along with this, arrangement of police was also made to maintain law and order.
