Special Kolkata Diagnostic Center is being run, but patients are being operated there without license. At the same time, due to wrong treatment, a patient had to amputate his left leg. A similar complaint has also been made against a diagnostic center located on Sarat Bose Road. On the basis of this complaint, the Health Commission has given an interim order to the diagnostic center to stop illegal work. Along with this, the Health Commission has sent all the medical documents of the patient to the diagnostic center.

According to commission sources, Deblena Roy, a resident of Charu Market, had filed a case against the diagnostician for wrong treatment. His father Jitendranath Roy had varicose veins in his legs. To get rid of it, he got the surgery done in that diagnostic center. Health Commission Chairman and former Justice Asim Banerjee said the diagnostic center is located at 96/2 Sarat Bose Road. Their license says Pathology Collection Center. Accordingly, only the collection of samples takes place. Apart from this, there is a clinic of 10 doctors. It is attached with a private hospital in Hyderabad.

These diagnostic centers recruit patients through advertisements. Seeing that advertisement the patient went there. He performed the surgery under intravenous anesthesia. But this did not solve the problem. In the end, the patient’s left leg had to be amputated after surgery at SSKM Hospital. However, the diagnostic center told that there is a private hospital nearby. He has an agreement with that hospital. In case of any problem during the surgery, the patient is taken to that hospital.

After listening to this argument, Speaker Asim Banerjee said that surgery should be done where consent is made. Such activities in that center should be stopped immediately. Only the subject can work who has the license. Diagnostic center can do nothing except OPD, sample collection, endoscopy. The health director has been asked to keep a close watch on the matter. The Health Commission has not yet given its final verdict in this matter. The matter came up for hearing after two weeks. After this the Health Commission will decide on it.
