ED officials, divided into two teams, searched two flats in Kuntal from Friday morning. Kuntal was arrested after a search of about 23 hours. The ED has claimed to have recovered several important documents from his two flats. It may be known that the young Trinamool leader has been arrested by the Enforcement Directorate for not cooperating in the investigation.

It is known that there are two flats in the name of Trinamool youth leader in the luxury residence in Chinar Park area of ​​Newtown. Intensive search of those flats is being done. Earlier, Tapas Mandal, considered close to ousted chairman of the Board of Primary Education Manik Bhattacharya, had alleged that Kuntal was involved in teacher recruitment corruption. Kuntal took Rs 3 crore 25 lakh from 325 teacher candidates. A total of 19 crore rupees related to corruption came in Kuntal’s pocket. Tapas Mandal has also informed that through which agents Kuntal used to take money. The CBI had earlier called Kuntal for questioning. Kuntal appeared at the Nizam Palace after 3 pm on Wednesday. He went away with many documents that day. The CBI called him again on Thursday. And yesterday ED raided his flat.

Meanwhile, Trinamool leader Shantanu Banerjee’s house along with Kuntal’s was searched for over 12 hours on Friday. According to ED sources, many documents have also been collected from there. It is to be known that Shantanu can be summoned next week at CBI’s office CGO Complex in Kolkata. Incidentally this Shantanu is the health officer of the Hooghly Zilla Parishad and former youth president of the District Trinamool. Shantanu’s house is in Baruipara village of Balagarh. Meanwhile Shantanu said that he knows Kuntal. They both ‘team together’. However, this statement of Shantanu, ‘I know Kuntal does not mean that I am responsible if anything happens. I did not do anything wrong. Not linked to any corruption.
