Calcutta High Court has stayed the decision in the case of wrong question in TET exam. A division bench of Justice Subrata Talukdar and Justice Supratim Bhattacharya asked all the parties to hear their statements within the next 10 days. In other words, all parties must notify the court of misconceived questions by January 20.

There were 6 wrong questions in the question paper of TET exam held in 2014. In 2018, 175 examinees had filed a case in the High Court regarding this complaint. In that case, High Court Judge Pramanya Chatterjee constituted an inquiry committee and ordered an inquiry. He also directed to give extra 6 marks to the examinees. Challenging that order, the Board of Primary Education had gone to the Bench.

Later several others joined as plaintiffs in that case. At present the number of litigants is more than one thousand. During the hearing, advocates Firdous Shamim and Vikasranjan Bhattacharya, counsel for the petitioners, demanded that marks be awarded to all the candidates who answered wrongly, except the petitioner. But, the Council refused to accept this demand. They argue that if marks are given to so many candidates, there will be a ruckus. Although the hearing of this case ended on Friday, the court did not pronounce any decision. It is believed that the verdict will be pronounced only after hearing the statements of all the parties.
