Dry spell broke after two and a half months
After about two and a half months, the weather has broken the cycle of dry spell. Earlier, light flakes of snow had fallen in Shimla on Lohri. After that today the weather took a turn. Clouds were ready to rain in the night itself, but by the time of morning light flakes of snow started falling from the sky.

A light white sheet of snow is lying at Mall Road, US Club, Jakhu in Shimla. Due to snowfall, the cold has also increased significantly in Shimla. Intermittent snowfall is also occurring in the higher reaches of Shimla including Kufri, Narkanda, Khada Patthar, Chaupal, Rohru, Chanshal, Narkanda.

Weather will be bad for 5 days
After the Western Disturbance becomes active, the weather will remain bad for the next 5 days. Meteorological Center Shimla Director Surendra Pal said that heavy snowfall alert has been issued in some high altitude areas of Kinnaur, Lahaul Spiti and Kullu districts, while in the higher reaches of Shimla, Chamba, Kangra, Mandi and Sirmaur districts. The snowfall will continue for the next 3 days.
