Fresh snowfall was recorded on the higher peaks of Himachal. During the last 24 hours, Rohtang Top of Kullu received maximum snowfall of 45 inches and Atal Tunnel received 35 inches of snowfall. There has definitely been good snowfall in Kinnaur, Lahaul Spiti and Kullu districts. However, there was neither good rain nor good snowfall in other districts.

Especially the people of Shimla are yearning to see snow this time. Alam is that Kufri and Narkanda also received light snowfall only once or twice, while the hills of famous tourist places Kufri and Narkanda were covered with snow for 2 to 3 months. However, this afternoon, light flakes of snow fell on the ridge as well. Due to this the faces of the tourists blossomed, but after a minute the snow stopped falling.

45 inch snowfall on rohtang top

During the last 24 hours, 45 inches in Rohtang Top of Kullu, 35 inches in Atal Tunnel, 30 inches in Solang, 7 inches in Chitkul of Kinnaur, 3 in Nako, 2 in Pooh, 1-1 inch in Kalpa and Sangla, Chamba There was 6 inches of snow in Killar, 6 inches in Sisu of Lahaul-Spiti, 3-3 inches in Udaipur and Kaza.

Movement of people affected due to closure of 216 roads

On the other hand, people’s problems have increased after fresh snowfall in the higher areas of the state. 216 roads and 325 electric transformers (DTR) have been blocked across the state. Maximum 148 roads and 119 electric transformers are closed in Lahaul Spiti district.

Similarly, 7 roads and 84 transformers are closed in Chamba, 43 roads and 14 transformers in Kinnaur, 9 roads and 32 transformers in Kullu, 6 roads in Mandi, one road and one transformer in Shimla. Due to snowfall in the state, a loss of Rs 6.91 crore has been estimated for the government this season.

On the other hand, Manali-Leh NH (NH-003) is also closed for all types of vehicles due to snowfall and avalanches. Similarly, Darcha-Shinkula road, Pangi-Killar highway (SH-26), Kaza-Graphu road and Sumdo to Losar (NH-505) are also closed for all types of vehicles. The Lahaul Spiti administration has advised to avoid traveling on this road.

The weather will be clear in the state from tomorrow

According to the Meteorological Department, even today there may be rain and snowfall in the higher areas of the state, but it will remain clear in the lower areas of the state. On the other hand, from tomorrow, for the next 4 days, there will be sunshine in the entire state.

2 to 5 degree drop in temperature

There has been a drop in the temperature after snowfall in the higher reaches during the last two days. But, Kalpa’s temperature has dropped to minus 1.2 degrees, Keylong minus 4.7 degrees, Kukumseri minus 2.9 degrees, Narkanda 2.9 degrees, Shimla 4.8 degrees, Una 9 degrees, Solan 7 degrees, Kufri 3.1 degrees. The temperature of most stations has decreased by two to five degrees.
