Historical International Shivratri Festival is going on in Mandi district of Himachal Pradesh, in which about 216 deities have come from all over the district. This deity will stay for about 7 days. At the same time, thousands of devotees are turning to the market to have darshan of their deities.

In fact, Shivratri Festival of Mandi is the biggest Dev Mela ever held in Himachal Pradesh as well as in the whole of India. Sage Muni associated with Mahabharata and Ramayana also used to reside in district Mandi of Himachal Pradesh and remove the sorrows and sufferings of the people.

1. Mata Nishu ki Parashari: The Queen of Gold
The temple of these goddesses is in Nishu village of Kataula, 25 km away from Mandi district headquarter. He has more gold than all the gods and goddesses who came to the market. Once Mata had come to Mandi dressed in gold, then the king of Mandi, Suraj Sen, had banned her from wearing gold. On the orders of the king, he gave up all his gold. Since then she comes to the market wearing silver, but when Parashar’s famous fair is held, the mother reaches Parashar dressed in gold.

2. Mata Kashmiri (Murah): Stays at a family home
The temple of this goddess is in the Murah valley of Thachi. Every year she comes to the market decorated with gold and silver. She also has another history that she stays at her traditional place i.e. in the house of a family in Mandi. Apart from this, the mother does not go anywhere else.

3. Mata Bhagwati Nau: Mother of the royal family
This goddess is also called Nau Panau Mata. Her temple is at a place named Panarsa, 55 km from Mandi district headquarters. It is believed that she is the most important mother of the royal family and once a year a big festival is celebrated in her temple. In that festival, with the blessings of Bhagwati Nau Mata, people get relief from every suffering.

4. Dev Chunjwala Rishi: Form of Shiva
Dev Chunjwala belongs to Mandi’s Thachi Valley. He is considered as the great deity of the valley. He has been called the form of Shiva. They are in charge of protecting the entire area. People also go to the court of this deity with their help. Even the deities immediately fulfill the requests of their devotees after listening to them.

5. Dev Ajaypal Rishi: Form of Brahmin
This deity is from the Drang assembly of Mandi and is considered to be a form of Brahmin. It is believed that this god gets those people married in his company, whose horoscopes do not match each other. This deity has so much power that he conducts smooth marriages even after horoscope defects and himself attends that marriage.
