In this, Nekram Sharma of Nanj village of Karsog under district Mandi in Himachal in agriculture sector will also be awarded with Padma Shri. Nekram Sharma has been associated with natural farming for the last nearly 20 years and is doing the noble work of reviving the traditional traditional cropping system of 9 grains that are beneficial for health. For which Nekram Sharma will be awarded with Padma Shri.

Nekram is associated with natural farming since 1992
Born in a simple family of Naz village, Nekram Sharma is associated with natural farming since 1992. Earlier, Nekram Sharma used to do chemical farming, but seeing the side effects on the health of the people, Nekram Sharma took steps to join natural farming techniques on 6 bighas of land about 20 years ago, leaving poison-based farming. For this, he took natural farming tips during training from Professor Dr. JP Upadhyay of Dr. Yashwant Singh Parmar University of Horticulture and Forestry, Nauni, located in Solan. Apart from this, Nekram Sharma also got information about natural farming techniques from Dharwad University of Agricultural Sciences located in Bengaluru.

20 thousand farmers have been motivated
Nekram Sharma, associated with natural farming, has inspired 20 thousand farmers across the state for farming. Nekram Sharma is doing the noble work of reviving the traditional cropping system of 9 grains. In this, coarse grains like desi maize and barley etc. are included, along with traditional cereals like Kagani, Kodra, Sok, Jowar etc., which are enjoyed by the country and the state. Similarly, Nekram Sharma is also doing the work of conservation of Dal Kolthi. This grain is not only nutritious to eat but is also very beneficial for health. These grains provide relief from diseases like cancer. Today it is the result of the same that he is being honored with the country’s highest honor Padma Shri.

Farmer Nekram is born in Naz village of Karsog
Nekram Sharma was born on 1 May 1964 in Karsog Nanz village. His father’s name is Jalam Ram Sharma and mother’s name is Kamla Devi. Both are no longer in this world. Ram Kali Sharma is the wife of Nekram Sharma. He has one son and two daughters. Son’s name is Jitram Sharma and daughters name is Suresha and Deepa. Nekram Sharma’s wife Ramkali Sharma also has a huge contribution in achieving this achievement of her husband.

This is the highest honor of the country
Padma Vibhushan, Padma Bhushan and Padma Shri awards are among the highest civilian honors of the country.
