Wrestling and success story of Phogat family in 3 points

1. Mahavir Phogat, did not have a son, then made daughters medalists
Mahavir Phogat lives in this village. Mahavir Phogat, himself a wrestler, wished that he had a son and won gold medals for the country at the international level. However, there were only four daughters in his family. ‘Are my daughters less than sons?’, with this thinking, Mahavir Phogat has started training his daughters Geeta and Babita.

Geeta Phogat was a freestyle wrestler. He won India’s first gold medal in wrestling at the 2010 Commonwealth Games. She is also the first Indian woman wrestler to qualify for the Olympic Summer Games. Geeta won 4 gold, 1 silver and 3 bronze medals for the country.

Geeta’s younger sister Babita Phogat won gold in the 2014 Commonwealth Games. He won 3 gold, 2 silver and 2 bronze medals for the country.

2. Seeing the cousins, Vinesh also got involved in the riot.
Seeing Geeta and Babita wrestling, Vinesh Phogat, who became the face of the protest against WFI President Brij Bhushan, also turned to wrestling. She is the daughter of Mahavir Phogat’s brother Rajpal i.e. cousin of Geeta-Batita. Vinesh is the first Indian woman wrestler to win gold medals in both Commonwealth and Asian Games. She is the only Indian woman wrestler to win more than 1 medal in the World Wrestling Championships. Vinesh has so far won 5 gold, 3 silver and 7 bronze medals for India. He has received Major Dhyanchand Khel Ratna and Arjuna Award.

3. What are the Phogat sisters doing now?
Mahavir Phogat has 4 daughters. Among them, Geeta and Babita have now left wrestling. Geeta Phogat is DSP in Haryana Police. Whereas Babita Phogat joined BJP in 2019. In the same year, she contested the assembly elections from Charkhidadri on a BJP ticket but lost. Sangeeta Phogat married Bajrang Punia. Ritu Phogat is doing wrestling. Phogat family got respect-job in BJP rule
WFI Chief Brij Bhushan is repeatedly adding Congress connection of Phogat family, but one truth is that Phogat family got respect and jobs in Center and Haryana only under BJP rule. Mahavir Phogat received the Dronacharya Award in 2016 only during the BJP government. Geeta Phogat was also given the post of DSP in Haryana Police by the BJP government in the state. Whereas Babita Phogat is directly in BJP.

When Geeta-Babita and Mahavir Phogat became famous, other children also started coming to learn wrestling. There was a shortage of space near the house, so he built a new academy 2 years ago. This academy is 3 km away from his house on Kanana road in village Jhojhukala.

At present there are about 40 children in this academy including Punjab, UP, Rajasthan, MP and Haryana. The hostel is also built here. Mahavir Phogat spends most of his time here. However, coaches have been kept for the children to practice. Mahavir Phogat also lives with his wife in the house next door.

Brij Bhushan is giving political angle to escape

Vinesh Phogat’s elder brother Harvinder Phogat says that Dipendra Hooda is not in our contact in any way. When Vinesh was defeated in 2021, he had definitely come to Delhi airport to encourage her. Vinesh did not meet him there also.

Brij Bhushan is taking the name of Dipendra Hooda while giving a political angle to save himself. Hooda has no such relation with our akhada.

Villagers said – Bhupendra Hooda must have come but Dipendra never came here

WFI President Brij Bhushan said that Deepender Hooda is behind this akhada. Although the villagers of this village Balali say shocking thing. He says that Bhupendra Hooda must have come here once to inaugurate ITI while he was CM, but his MP son Dipendra Hooda never even came to the village.

Bindraj, husband of the sarpanch of the village, says that the village does not have any special attachment with Deepender Hooda. Deepender Hooda never came here. He calls Brijbhushan’s allegations false. He counters Brijbhushan’s allegations saying that the entire village is with the daughters.

They demand Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah to listen to the voice of the villagers. Our daughters have brought laurels in the country and abroad. Won medals for the country. His honor should not be hurt. Get Brij Bhushan to resign soon. He should be punished under legal action.
