A three-year-old girl fell into a 300-feet deep borewell in Sehore. The accident took place in Mungavali on Tuesday afternoon. The girl is trapped 29 feet below. SDERF team is engaged in rescue. To remove it, a parallel pit is being dug at a distance of 5 feet with the help of more than 10 JCB and Poklen machines. About 26 feet of digging has been done, now 3 feet of pit is yet to be dug. Excavation is being done with a drill machine due to the arrival of stony ground.
The girl child has been named Srishti. His father’s name is Rahul Kushwaha. SP Mayank Awasthi is also present on the occasion. Oxygen is being delivered to the baby girl. An inspection camera has also been installed inside the borewell to monitor its movement. Ambulance and medical team are also deployed on the spot.
Officials of the Chief Minister’s Office in contact with the district administration
SDM Aman Mishra said, ‘We had received information at around 1.30 pm that the girl had fallen into the borewell. Local administration along with NDRF, SDERF is engaged in rescue. Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has taken cognizance of the incident. He has instructed the administration to make proper efforts to evacuate the girl child. Officials of the Chief Minister’s Office are in touch with Sehore district administration.
There is a borewell near the girl’s house. She fell into it while playing.
Accident in front of grandmother’s eyes
The girl’s grandmother Kalavati Bai told- Srishti went out of the house to play. I was there then. There is another’s farm near the house. A cart was placed on the borewell in it. While playing, Srishti sat in it and fell inside. I screamed and went to hold her. Hearing the screams, my son and the villagers came there.
The girl’s grandmother told that the borewell was covered with tar. By the time I stopped her, she fell inside.
Excavation is being done with a drill machine due to the arrival of stony ground.
Father said- daughter came out safely
The girl’s father Rahul Kushwaha said- My 3 year old only daughter came out of the house while playing. His wife was coming to pick him up, when he ran towards the borewell. I just want him to come out safe and sound.
Excavation is being done near the borewell through JCB and Poklen machines.
SDERF team is present on the spot. Oxygen is being delivered to the baby girl.
Officers present on the spot are monitoring the rescue operation.
An inspection camera has been inserted inside the borewell to monitor the movement of the girl child.
