The G-20 summit is going to be held in Srinagar, the capital of Jammu and Kashmir, from May 22 to 24. For this, preparations are going on in full swing at the Sher-e-Kashmir International Conference Centre, also known as SKICC. The international summit, to be held on the banks of Dal Lake, is expected to give a boost to tourism in the region.
The Tourism Working Group of G20 countries will be present in the summit for how to further increase tourism in this region. Tourism Secretary Syed Abid Rashid Shah said, this is a great opportunity for Kashmir to showcase its natural beauty and tourism potential to the world. The LG administration is hopeful that the successful hosting of the summit will bring worldwide recognition to Kashmir.

What is this G-20
The G-20 is also called the Group of Twenty. It does not have any central headquarters. Every year one of the participating countries presides over this organization. This time India is hosting it. In this conference the main topics of all the countries i.e. terrorism, economic troubles, global warming, health and other important issues are discussed. These G20 countries contribute 80% of the economic production in the whole world.

The G-20 group includes Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Canada, China, Germany, France, India, Indonesia, Italy, Japan, Mexico, Russia, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, South Korea, Turkey, the United Kingdom, the United States, and European Unions are included.

Two-thirds of the world’s population is with these G20 countries and these G20 countries account for three-fourths of the international trade in the whole world. There was a financial crisis in 1977, keeping in mind that crisis, the major economies of the world came up with the idea that a group should be formed and after that the G20 group was established in the year 1999.
