In West Bengal, 15 people from 6 districts were killed in the violence that took place on the day of voting for the panchayat elections on Saturday. Leader of the Opposition and BJP MLA from Nandigram Shubhendu Adhikari blamed Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee for this. He said, due to the connivance of TMC goons and police, so many killings took place.
CBI and NIA should investigate this matter.
This election was not happening, votes were being looted
Shubhendu said, this election was not happening, votes were being looted and deaths were taking place. There was violence and arson. There was talk of deploying central security forces in the elections. Where were they during the violence?
Accusing the state government, Shubhendu said that CCTV monitoring was claimed but CCTV cameras were not installed anywhere.
Will go to court with the families of the deceased
Shubhendu said that we will approach the court along with the families of those killed and demand an inquiry into the incidents of violence. Apart from this, he will ask the State Election Commissioner to direct CM Mamta to pay a compensation of Rs 50 lakh to the next of kin of the deceased.
