Rahul Gandhi has given clarification regarding his speech in London. He said, ‘There was nothing in my speech that I did not extract from the public record. The Prime Minister and the government are scared of the Adani issue. That’s why my speech is being ridiculed here. Will reply in detail in Parliament on the issue of the speech given in London. I am an MP and Parliament is my platform.

On the other hand, the government has approved the purchase of defense equipment worth 70 thousand 584 crores for the army. The DAC (Defence Acquisition Council) headed by Defense Minister Rajnath Singh approved the purchase. The weapons being procured include 60 Made in India utility marine helicopters and 200 BrahMos supersonic cruise missiles for the Navy.

At the same time, 307 howitzer cannons will be given to the army. Along with this, long range stand-off weapons will be purchased for the Air Force. These weapons will be attached to Sukhoi-30 fighter jets. Advance light helicopters are also being purchased for the Indian Coast Guards. It will be made by Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL).

2. New CBI case on Sisodia, corruption – accused of spying on opposition leaders
The CBI has registered a fresh case of espionage and corruption against Manish Sisodia, the former deputy CM of Delhi, who is jailed in connection with the liquor policy case. It is alleged that the AAP government illegally set up a feedback unit in 2015. The government incurred a loss of Rs 36 lakh in running the unit.

The CBI says that the unit was used to spy on opposition party leaders, officials and judiciary members. This unit used to collect political information. 40% of the unit’s reports were about this information. On the other hand, BJP has demanded to make Arvind Kejriwal also an accused in this case.

3. Defense Ministry approves arms procurement, 60 Marine helicopters, BrahMos missiles in deal

70, 584 crore weapons will be purchased for the army. This decision is also important because for three years, tension with China has continued on the Line of Actual Control (LAC) in eastern Ladakh. The Defense Acquisition Council had proposed the deal under AoN (Acceptance) of Necessity.

This money will be released under this, it is a special programme. Its purpose is to include equipment made in India in the weapon. A total of Rs 2,71,538 crore has now been approved for the financial year 2022-23. 98.9% of this will be spent on buying goods made in India only.

The Delhi High Court has ordered Tejashwi Yadav to appear before the CBI on March 25 in the Land for Jobs scam case. Court dismisses Tejashwi’s plea to quash CBI’s summons. Tejashwi’s lawyer said that if he appears before the agency, he will be arrested.
