The Haryana government has filed its reply in the court regarding the petition filed against the parole of Dera Sacha Sauda Sirsa chief Ram Rahim. Taking the side of Ram Rahim, the government said that he is neither a hardcore criminal nor a serial killer.

The Haryana government said that Ram Rahim regrets his actions. He was convicted under Section 302 read with 120B of IPC. The government filed its reply through the jail superintendent of Rohtak. The government said that he was granted parole as per the previous order.

The government said that earlier also Ram Rahim was given parole thrice and he had not committed any wrongdoing. Apart from this, 1000 other prisoners have also been given parole. The government said that the people of the country have the right to present good examples by coming back to the society. Those who get out of prison and then do not get the support of the society, they can reform again. If they do not get the support of the society, they may become criminals again. Therefore, it is necessary to give opportunity to the prisoners to keep pace with the society.

Told last time also not hardcore criminal
Last year too, the parole of Ram Rahim was challenged. Even then the Haryana government has justified the parole of Ram Rahim. The government said that Ram Rahim was given parole only as per the rules. Ram Rahim is not a hardcore criminal. Ram Rahim has been given parole like other prisoners under the prescribed rules.

SGPC filed the petition
SGPC has filed a petition against Ram Rahim’s parole. Dera chief is serving sentence in cases like murder and rape. There are many cases registered against him in Punjab as well. His followers have allegedly desecrated the Guru Granth Sahib. On which there was a dispute many times between the Sikhs and their followers.

Due to this several protest marches, Punjab bandhs, blockade of roads and railway lines in Punjab were held in Punjab. The sentiments of the Sikhs have been hurt by granting parole to the Dera chief.
