Family members weep over the death of Chhotu Kumar from spurious liquor.
In Bihar’s East Champaran district, 16 people died after consuming spurious liquor. The condition of many is critical. All are undergoing treatment in different hospitals of Motihari and Muzaffarpur. People of 6 villages of the district had consumed liquor at different places on Thursday. Everyone’s health started deteriorating since night. The next day death started happening one by one. Till Saturday, 16 people died.
A special team from Patna is going to Motihari to investigate the matter. This includes 5 police officers. There are 2 DSP and 3 Inspector in these. On the other hand, the DM-SP of the district says that there have been deaths due to diarrhoea-food poisoning. On this incident, CM Nitish Kumar said – The incident is sad. People should not do wrong things. It is told again and again.
Was called to cut wheat, then everyone drank alcohol
Vinod Paswan, who attended the liquor party, told that Jata Ram had called all of us to Balganga to cut wheat. After working there, everyone drank alcohol together, then went home from there. As the night passed, everyone’s condition started deteriorating. Jata Ram, Dhrup Paswan, Ashok Paswan and Chhotu were killed.

The series of deaths started from Friday evening
The deaths began on Friday. By evening 8 people lost their lives. This figure increased to 16 on Saturday morning. The family members cremated 7 bodies without postmortem.

The condition of Harilal Singh of Math Lohiyar village is critical, admitted to a private nursing home in the city. 35-year-old Rameshwar Ram died during treatment at a private clinic at Bairiya Bazar of Turkaulia police station area. The family told that there was a sudden headache since morning. Admitted for treatment, died in the evening.
