According to the police, the woman who died, Wahidabi Noor Mohammad Shaikh, was a widow and lived alone since 1990 at her home in Kalyan town.

The landlord was forcing Waheeda to vacate the house as he wanted to do re-construction. According to the complaint by Waheeda’s relative, the woman had refused to vacate the house. The landlord used to harass him on this.

Waheeda’s body had turned black, blood was spread all around
The complainant woman had gone to meet Waheeda at her house on 13 May 2022. Till then she was fine. However, a few days later he received a message that he had died on 16 May. When she reached there, she saw that Waheeda’s body had turned black and there were blood stains all over. After the death of Waheeda, the landlord had taken the keys of the house from the complainant.

The Bazarpeth police station official said that on the demand of the complainant, the police sent Waheeda’s body for postmortem.

Complaint was lodged on suspicion of murder
The complainant suspected that Waheeda’s death was murder. So he approached the court. Following this, the court in January directed the police to register a case against the landlord and two of his family members and begin investigation.

Police on Saturday registered a case against three people for murder, destruction of evidence, conspiracy. Later all three were arrested.
