Monsoon reached the country on Sunday. It usually covers the entire country by July 8, but this time it reached all parts of the country 6 days in advance. According to IMD, during this period, North-West India received 45% more rainfall than normal and South India received 46% less rainfall.

The Meteorological Department has issued an alert for heavy rains in 20 states including Bihar and Jharkhand in the next 24 hours.

Last week, Gujarat was the worst affected due to heavy rains. Flood-like conditions were created in many areas here. According to the police, 11 people died in rain-related incidents in Jamnagar in the last three days.

Valsad, Navsari, Junagadh, Amreli, Chhota Udepur, Ahmedabad and Surendrapur districts of the state received rainfall ranging from 100 mm to 234 mm. Dharampur in Valsad district received maximum rainfall.

Heavy rain will occur in these states: Uttarakhand, Eastern Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, Maharashtra, Goa, Tamil Nadu, West Bengal, Odisha, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Kerala, Sikkim, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Mizoram and Tripura.

Light rain will occur in these states: Light rain will also occur in some parts of all the states with heavy rains. Apart from these, light to moderate rain with lightning may occur over Gujarat and Delhi.
