The Foreign Ministry of Pakistan has come into action in the case of misbehavior with a female professor in a Punjab University in the Pakistan High Commission in New Delhi. After the matter was raised in the Indian media, the Foreign Ministry of Pakistan has shown seriousness in the matter after almost 10 months of complaint.

It is noteworthy that on March 2022 last year, a female professor of a university in Punjab was misbehaved by two employees working in the Pakistan High Commission in New Delhi. In the name of giving visa, demanded sexual relations with the female professor. Even when the female professor refused, later she was also mentally harassed by messaging. Apart from this, an attempt was also made to instigate Prime Minister Narendra Modi to write an article on Kashmir.

No action taken for 10 months
On April 2022, the female professor sent a complaint to the Pakistan Foreign Ministry and the Pakistan Home Ministry along with a copy of the WhatsApp message. But after 10 months no action was taken. A complaint was also sent to the Indian Ministry of External Affairs and the Prime Minister, but no action was taken against the accused except for noting the complaint. Finally, when the matter was raised in the media, Pakistan Foreign Ministry had to answer.

Foreign Ministry said – Misbehavior will not be tolerated
After raising the voice in the Indian media, Pakistan’s Foreign Ministry has also come into action. Foreign Ministry spokesperson Mumtaz Zahra Baloch said that all visas and consulars of Pakistan have been given strict instructions to work in a professional manner.

He said that in view of the matter, the timing of the complaint and the manner in which it has been raised is puzzling. A robust system has been put in place for redressal of all public grievances. The policy of zero tolerance towards such misbehavior is adopted in Pakistan.
