In Punjab, it rained with strong winds in many districts last night. Due to the rains during the night, the average minimum temperature of the state has come down by 2.9 degrees as compared to the previous day. At the same time, this temperature is being estimated to be 2.2 degrees less than normal. There are chances of rain again in entire Punjab from Monday. Yellow alert has been issued in Punjab for the next 5 days.

According to the data released by the Meteorological Department, the highest rainfall of 17.2MM was recorded in Gurdaspur last night. Apart from this, 17 MM rainfall was recorded in Ferozepur, 12.3MM in Ludhiana and 13MM in Barnala.

Due to which there was a drop in the record minimum temperature in the morning. Ludhiana was the coldest city in Punjab today, recording a minimum temperature of 22.1 degrees Celsius, while Mohali was the hottest recorded at 26.1 degrees.

Chances of rain in the state from Monday
There are chances of rain in entire Majha and Doaba on Monday. The Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert across Punjab from Monday to Friday. On the other hand, rain is expected in every district except Fazilka, Muktsar, Bathinda and Mansa in Malwa. During this, the maximum temperature of the cities will also fall by 3 to 5 degrees. Due to which the temperature will again reach below 40 degrees.

There are chances of sunshine again in Punjab today. Due to rain, the temperature will be better than the previous day. But the maximum temperature of the day can go beyond 40 degrees. On the other hand, the maximum average temperature of Punjab was recorded 2.4 degrees above normal on the previous day as well.

The highest temperature of 44.9 degrees Celsius was recorded in Ludhiana on the previous day. While Amritsar recorded 43.3 degrees, Patiala and Faridkot recorded 42 degrees.

Amritsar The minimum temperature was recorded at 23.6 degrees Celsius, one degree less than normal. The temperature is expected to be near 40 degrees till evening. Light rain is also expected.

Jalandhar The minimum temperature recorded near 25 degrees. Today the maximum temperature is expected to be close to 40 degrees. There is a possibility of light rain.

Ludhiana- The minimum temperature was recorded at 41.6 degrees. This temperature was less than normal by 2 degrees. Today the maximum temperature can be close to 40 degrees. There are also chances of rain.
