The Punjab government has also given approval to recover Rs 200 from pension holders. After which CM Bhagwant Mann’s government has once again come under attack from the opposition parties. The Congress MLAs have even termed the financial condition of Punjab as grave. Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee chief Amarinder Singh Raja Wading and former chief Navjot Singh Sidhu have targeted the Chief Minister.

It may be noted that till now Rs 200 was being collected from every employed person as development and professional tax every month. That is, a person of the year was giving 2400 rupees to the Punjab government. Shopkeepers and pensioners did not come under this category. But the Punjab government has now announced to collect this tax from pensioners as well. Pensioners will also have to pay Rs 2,400 as tax in a year. The special thing is that this tax will already be deducted from the pension.
King Wading condemned the proposal
Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee chief Amarinder Singh Raja Wading has condemned this decision of the Punjab government. Wadding tweeted, “It would be better Bhagwant Mann if AAP makes its real plan public.

Navjot Singh Sidhu has taunted the Punjab Government and Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann. Sidhu said- So the begging bowl has come out…… No income for the state… The treasury is being pocketed by individuals… Desperate borrowings, indirect taxes and now obvious direct taxes. .. clearly shows the financial position of the Punjab Government in a “serious condition”.
