Vigilance raided the house of former Punjab MLA and BJP leader Satkar Kaur Gheri on Friday. On Monday, the Vigilance team reached the residence of Satkar, former MLA of Ferozepur Dehati, in village Alewala, on charges of disproportionate assets.
Vigilance had also interrogated Netri for more than 5 hours in his office on Monday. Although what Vigilance got involved in the inquiry on Monday, it has not been disclosed by the officials, but Satkar Kaur says that she has not done anything illegal.
Became Congress MLA in 2017
Satkar said that she respects the law. Whatever allegations have been leveled against him are completely baseless. She will be a part of the investigation as and when called by the authorities for investigation. Satkar Kaur was elected Congress MLA from Ferozepur Dehati in 2017.
In 2022, the report of Satkar Kaur Gehri’s image not being good was sent to the Congress high command, due to which the party cut the ticket of Satkar Kaur. Ashu Bangar, who left the Aam Aadmi Party and joined the Congress, was given a ticket from the Ferozepur rural constituency.
Anti-propaganda with the rebels
Satkar Kaur’s husband Ladi wept bitterly in front of the journalists as soon as he got the information about ticket cancellation. After this, Satkar Kaur Gheri and her husband Ladi Gheri continued to oppose the Congress along with the opposition parties to defeat Ashu from here. Its complaint was received by Harish Chowdhary, Punjab in-charge of Congress.
Chowdhary has expelled Satkar Kaur from the party. After this Gehri joined BJP and at present she is an active leader of BJP along with her husband.
