Punjab Governor Banwarilal Purohit is on a tour of the border areas.

Governor Banwari Lal Purohit has responded to the questions raised by Aam Aadmi Party ministers on visiting the border areas of Punjab. The governor said – what the ministers say, it doesn’t matter to them. There may be political reasons behind this. I don’t do politics. I am doing my work. Where good works are done, I also praise the police and the administration there. Where there is deficiency, I will speak. Whether one likes it good or bad.

Significantly, after the governor went on a tour of the border areas, the AAP ministers raised questions. He did not call it the work of the governor. These questions have been raised even during the Governor’s first visit to the Punjab border area. But for the first time he has answered it.

trying to strengthen the border
The Governor told that this is his official fourth and unofficial fifth visit. Whatever decisions were taken during this period, its effect is now visible. After becoming the governor of Punjab, his first effort was to strengthen the Pakistan border, so that the antics of Pakistan could be stopped. After coming here 5 times, first of all met the people and sarpanches of the border area, so that the problem of the border could be understood.

Apart from the Border Security Force (BSF), which is deployed at the border at all times, coordination was made between the Army, the local police and the central security agency NIA. Its results are now visible. For some time, the number of drones being dropped on the border has increased. This is a huge success.

Security committees in border villages
The governor told that the second task here was to form security committees in the villages of the border area. The SSP and DC of every district together formed committees in the 10 kilometer area along the border. There are 11 to 15 people in this committee. After covering every village of 10 kms, now 5 more kms villages will be brought under this scheme.

Smugglers’ information received from committees
The Governor said that the smugglers from across the border were able to carry out their nefarious designs only when some mischievous elements of the village here supported them. These mischievous elements may escape from the eyes of the police, but the people of the village know about them. No person in the village would like to have enmity with the mischievous elements of his village.

Keeping this in mind, it was decided to form security committees. The members of these security committees have direct relations with DC and SSP. Every wrongdoing is now going to the police. Governor Purohit said that the way the committees are working, it is also necessary to give respect to them. That’s why the members of all these committees will now be given dresses. So that they can have a different identity.

Ongoing experiments to stop drone movement
Drone movement on the border has increased a lot. Many drones are being shot down, but the input center is getting is a matter of concern. For this, along with the Army, BSF is doing research on the latest technologies. Many trainings have also been successful. Efforts are being made that they can be used on the border this year itself, so that a strong border can be built.
