The High Court can give its verdict today regarding reducing the security of former Punjab Congress President Navjot Sidhu. During the hearing held recently, the Punjab government had submitted a sealed report to the High Court. After which the court had decided to hear the matter on Monday i.e. today.

During the hearing on May 11, the Punjab government could not submit the status report. He told the reason behind this was the lack of response from the central agencies. After which the High Court had ordered the state government to file the report by May 18. After which the Punjab government sealed its report and handed it over to the High Court.

It may be mentioned that a few days ago, Sidhu had lodged a case in Patiala that his servant had seen an unknown person on the terrace. Sidhu had said that he was in danger of life.

Reduced security after release from jail
Navjot Sidhu has recently returned from Patiala Jail after serving one year of imprisonment in the road rage case. Only after that the AAP government reduced his security from Z plus to Y plus. After which he filed a petition in the High Court. Last month, during the hearing on April 28, the High Court issued a notice to the government and also sought an answer.

Sidhu had told about the threat to his life
In his petition, Navjot Sidhu has demanded increased security citing threat to his life. Sidhu had clearly said that he has been receiving death threats. On the other hand, on reaching Musewala’s house after his release from jail, Navjot Singh Sidhu had said that the gangsters were threatening him publicly. In such a situation, after Sidhu Musewala, now the government wants to kill another Sidhu as well.

Only 13 left out of 25 commandos
Navjot Singh Sidhu used to have a total convoy of 25 commandos before going to jail in the road rage case. Not only this, even during the hearing of a case in Ludhiana from jail, Navjot Singh Sidhu refused to go out without security. After this, when Navjot Singh Sidhu came out of jail, the number of his commandos was reduced from 25 to 13.
