12 killed, 8 injured in two buses collision in Odisha
Two buses collided late Sunday night near Digpahandi in Odisha’s Ganjam. 12 people died in this accident, while 8 others were injured. Berhampur SP Saravan Vivek said that according to preliminary investigation, there was a head-on collision between the Odisha State Road Transport Corporation (OSRTC) bus and the private bus.
He said the OSRTC bus was going from Rayagada to Bhubaneswar, while the private bus was returning from Khandadeuli village in Berhampur. The passengers in this bus were returning home from a wedding. All the injured have been admitted to MKCG Medical College, Berhampur.
However, the reason for the accident is not yet clear. Regarding this accident, the Odisha government has announced Rs 3 lakh for the dead and Rs 30,000 for the injured.
