The assets of the 71 MPs re-elected to the Lok Sabha between 2009 and 2019 increased by an average of 286 per cent. The average assets of 71 MPs in 2009 was 6.15 crores, which increased to 16.23 crores in 2014. In the next five years i.e. in 2019, it increased from 17.59 crores to 23.75 crores. This information has been given in the report of the National Election Watch on the basis of the affidavit given by these MPs.

Among them, BJP has 43 MPs, Congress 10, Trinamool Congress 7, BJD and Shiv Sena 2-2 MPs. Whereas JDU, AIMIM, AIUDF, IUML, NCP, Shiremani Akali Dal and National Conference have one MP each. On an average, the assets of BJP MPs have increased by 15 crores, Congress MPs by 10 crores and Trinamool Congress by 5 crores.

Harsimrat’s wealth increased by 157 crores
If you see from the figures, the property of Akali Dal’s Harsimrat Kair Badal has increased the most by 157 crores. NCP’s Supriya Sule has increased by 89 crores. BJD’s Pinaki Mishra’s wealth has increased by 87 crores.

3 members’ wealth increased by 1100-4000%
In percentage terms, BJP MP from Bijapur, Karnataka, Ramesh Chandappa (72) has the highest increase of 4189%. His assets were Rs 1.18 crore in 2009, which increased to Rs 8.94 crore in 2014 and 50.41 crore in 2019.
