Consignment of heroin found on the border.
Smugglers sitting in Pakistan then sent drones to the Indian border. The drone came to the border area of Punjab and managed to return, but alert BSF jawans seized the consignment of heroin thrown by the drone during the search. The value of the seized consignment is estimated to be around Rs 17 crore.
According to the information shared by BSF, this drone movement was seen in the border village Kalia of Tarn Taran. During the night when the BSF jawans were on the border, the sound of the drone was heard at the same time.
Fire was fired towards the sound of the drone, but the drone managed to escape. BSF jawans gave this information to their senior officers.
A day before, a drone was found fallen across the fencing in Redewala village of Amritsar.
The decision to search was taken at night itself.
Despite the darkness, the BSF officials decided to conduct the search operation during the night itself. Meanwhile, he found a yellow packet in the field of village Kalia. On which a rope hook was made, so that it would be easy to throw it from the drone. When the packet was opened after investigation, a consignment of 2.470KG heroin was recovered from it.
7 drones targeted in a month
There has been a lot of drone movement in the last one month. Every other day drones are coming from Pakistan border to Indian border. According to the information shared by BSF, about 8 drones have become the target of BSF’s bullet in a month. Despite this, smugglers sitting in Pakistan are continuously using drones to send heroin consignments.
