The incident took place around 7 pm on Thursday when the victim and his friend were standing near a private school and talking. Then a group of five people surrounded them and started threatening them at knife point and also threatened to kill them. They then took turns raping the victim in front of the friend and also threatened to kill and bury her.

Getting a chance, both escaped after saving their lives.
Taking a chance, the victim and her friend fled the spot and reached their relatives, who admitted the girl student to a hospital and informed the police. The victim told the police that she could not recognize anyone due to lack of light, but one of the accused called the other as Vimal.

Five accused in police custody
The police started investigation and the team traced the accused Vimal in Vipadu village. When Vimal was strictly interrogated, the Tamil Nadu police also caught the other four accused. They have been identified as Manikandan, Sivakumar, Vignesh and Thenarasu. All five accused have been charged with rape and are currently lodged in jail.
