Gas leaked in a factory named Sourav Chemical on Barwala Road in Derabassi, Punjab at 2 pm on Thursday night. The gas leak was detected when the people around started feeling difficulty in breathing. On coming to know about this, along with the rescue team, the pollution department and the medical team immediately reached the spot.

Around 50 laborers were working in the night shift in the factory when the gas leaked. Due to the gas leak, the health of all the workers started deteriorating and they ran out of the factory. The reasons for the gas leak are yet to be ascertained. The officials are also keeping silence on the matter.

Gas leaked at first two places
On April 30, 11 people had died in a gas leak incident in Ludhiana. After this, the second incident of gas leak took place in Nangal on May 11. Here children of a school and others were exposed to gas. Now there has been a gas leak incident in Derabassi. But experts are yet to ascertain the exact cause of the gas leak.
