Today is the 12th day of the wrestlers’ dharna at Jantar Mantar.

There was a clash between the police and the wrestlers who were protesting at Delhi’s Jantar Mantar on Wednesday night. The controversy increased so much that Dushyant’s head exploded when he came to support sister Vinesh Phogat. Wrestlers Sakshi Malik and Vinesh Phogat have alleged that a drunk policeman misbehaved with them. After which the rest of the wrestlers present there created a ruckus.

Vinesh’s brother Dushyant was beheaded in this uproar. Another wrestler was also injured. After the uproar, the police have detained many people.

Wrestlers held a press conference shortly after the incident. Vinesh Phogat and Sakshi Malik started crying while narrating the incident.

  • Congress Rajya Sabha MP Deepender Hooda and Swati Maliwal, chairperson of the Delhi Commission for Women, who reached Jantar Mantar after hearing the news of the attack on the wrestlers, have been taken into custody by the police.

When we intervened, the supporters of the wrestlers became aggressive and tried to remove the beds from the truck. A minor brawl followed. In which Somnath Bharti has been detained along with 2 people. At present, a large number of police have been deployed at Jantar Mantar.

Controversy started after abusing female wrestlers
Sakshi Malik’s husband Satyavrat Malik did Facebook Live. In which it was told that at around 10:45 pm, Vinesh was going to take a bed some distance away with sister Sangeeta. That’s why a policeman who was drunk there, while abusing, told him to sleep in the mud. On protesting, a debate started between the police-wrestlers. In between, other wrestlers including Vinesh’s brother came to the rescue. Meanwhile, the police hit Vinesh’s brother with a stick on his head.

The protest increased so much that the top officers of Delhi Police also reached the spot. To boost the morale of the comrades, the wrestlers raised slogans of Bharat Mata ki Jai Vande Mataram and Inquilab Zindabad.
