The family said that around 25 women cricketers, including Rajshree, were part of the training camp organized by the Odisha Cricket Association (OCA). It was for a national level cricket tournament to be held in Puducherry. All the players were staying in a hotel. The Odisha state women’s cricket team was announced on 10 January.

Rajshree’s name was not in the last list
Rajshree’s name was not there in the last list. On January 11, all the players reached the cricket ground in Tangi area for practice, but Rajshree told her coach that she was going to Puri to meet her father. Since then she was missing.

Mother said – did not choose even after playing well
Rajshree’s father said- My daughter was murdered and hanged by Odisha Cricket. The mother alleged – she had come to Cuttack for the selection camp. After a 10-day selection camp, she was deliberately dropped from the final team despite being the best player. She was under pressure and called her sister to tell her that despite being an all-rounder, she was not picked in the team.

Selection was being done by paying
The cricketer’s cousin says that Rajshree made the last call to him. He had told that some players were included in the team by paying money and were rejected. After this, when we tried to call again, Rajshree’s mobile was switched off. She was a strong woman. She could not commit suicide, she was an all-rounder player.
