Angry villagers set the house of Manohar Lal’s killers on fire in Chamba
After the murder of a youth at Saluni in Chamba district of Himachal Pradesh, the villagers burnt the house of the murder accused. The crowd that came out from Kihar police station for Sanghani carried out this incident. The crowd dispersed by the time the police arrived. After this the police have imposed section 144 in Chamba district.
Earlier in the afternoon, Saluni, Sanghani, Lachodi, Kihar market was closed by the local people. The angry mob forcefully opened the gate of the police station and entered the police station premises. During this, the administrative officers present on the spot kept explaining their anger to the people, but people did not agree. Local people are demanding capital punishment for the killers.
Manohar Lal’s dead body found in seven pieces on June 9
Manohar Lal, a 22-year-old deceased from Saloni in Chamba, was missing from home since June 6. The relatives complained about this to the police. On June 9, 7 pieces of his body were found in a sack in the drain. This case of murder is related to love affair. It is being told that Manohar Lal, a Dalit youth from the Hindu community, had a love affair with a girl from the minority community. In this case, the police have already taken 8 people from the minority community into custody. BJP leaders are raising questions on the investigation of this matter.
So far 8 people including girlfriend arrested
When Manohar Lal went to meet the girl on June 6, the family members of the girl killed her and cut her body into pieces and stuffed it in a sack and buried it under stones in a drain. Police has so far arrested 8 people including Manohar Lal’s girlfriend in this case.
Chief Minister appealed to maintain peace
Chief Minister Sukhwinder Sukhu said that all the people of the accused family, except the small children, have been arrested. Police SIT is seriously investigating this matter. On the demand of the Leader of the Opposition for an investigation by the NIA, the Chief Minister said that if Jairam Thakur gives it in writing, he will recommend an investigation by the NIA.
He said that yesterday the President of Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha went there. After this all this happened today. He has asked everyone to maintain peace.
