There can be no greater irony than this for parents who cannot even try to save their children from the fire. When a hut caught fire late on Wednesday night in Amb in Himachal Pradesh’s Una district, everything was calm in Bane Di Hatti, a laborer’s residential area.
Meanwhile, the fire in the grass-thatched hut showed such an orgy that in no time everything was burnt to ashes. Neither could anyone hear the screams of the children burning alive inside, nor could anyone try to save them. After an hour and a half, when the fire brigade came and extinguished the fire, the bodies of the children were burnt to coal.
Seeing the pieces of her liver burnt in the fire, the mother screamed and fell unconscious.

Parasram called the fire brigade
Parasram was doing some work at night in the wheat fields near Bane Di Hatti. As soon as he saw the flames rising in the sky, he ran towards the spot. The sight there was heart wrenching. Fire was raging in 2 huts. Many people were standing there, but no one was able to do anything. Parasram told that he immediately called the fire brigade. In some time, the fire personnel came and extinguished the fire, then it was found that the four children sleeping in the hut had been burnt to wood and the smoke and smell rising from the smoldering was making the atmosphere even more crippling.
Everything in the house was reduced to ashes by burning in the fire, it was made by adding pie-pie.
The future of the laborer couple is over
Ramdei and Ramesh Das from Darbhanga in Bihar came to Himachal Pradesh with the hope of earning a livelihood and a better future for their 3 children. Little did he imagine that along with his future in the hut, his family would also end. 3 children who died of burning Neetu 13 years old was studying in 5th class, 8 years old Sunny was studying in second and 6 years old Shivam was studying in first class. With his departure, there is no support left for the parents. On the other hand, Sonu who died along with him was the only son of his father Kalidas.
The fire kept burning till morning, whoever saw the scene of devastation, his eyes were filled with tears.
Sonu left the world instead of going home
17 year old Sonu also used to work here. It is learned that he had brought the money a day or two ago after settling accounts with his contractor. He was about to go home with his deposit, but Honi agreed to something else. Sonu went to sleep with his 3 siblings at night and slept forever.
The news of the fire spread in the entire village in such a way that everyone left their work and reached the spot.
Children playing in slums have become fetish
Suman, who was the first to see the scene after the huts caught fire, told that the four children had become idols of coal after being burnt. On seeing them, he could not recognize that these are small children playing in his own colony. After this, an atmosphere of stampede was created all around. Efforts were made to save the huts from the fire, but the fire was so high that no one could walk.
The whole village reached to see the scene of fire and devastation that even the stove did not burn in anyone’s house.

Where on one side 4 children were completely burnt to ashes in a hut. Whereas Videshwar Das was sleeping with his two daughters Anshu and Abha in another hut. As soon as there was a feeling of fire in the second hut. All these people immediately came out of their slum.
Police and administration officials also reached the spot, but financial aid cannot bring the children alive. It cannot reduce the sorrow of the parents.
Administration gave 40 thousand
Tehsildar Amb Prem Diman, Kanungo Subhash Chand, Naresh Kumar and Patwari Navdeep Singh reached the spot after the accident. Here he gave 40 thousand rupees as immediate help to the families who had lost all four children. In this fire, along with the children, all the things kept in the hut were also burnt to ashes. Their beds, clothes, ration and everything else turned into ashes.
The family had come from Bihar to make a living, but lost their next generation.
The age of those who died was 6 to 17 years.
The dead included Ramesh Das’s three children, Neetu (14), Golu Kumar (7), Shivam Kumar (6) and their relative Kalidas’s son Sonu Kumar (17), who were sleeping in Ramesh Das’s hut. As soon as the information about the fire was received, Fireman Lucky Kumar, Home Guard Shamin Kumar, Driver Tarsem Lal from Fire Station Amb reached the spot with the fire brigade and saved the fire from spreading.
