A reading marathon took place on Monday in Gopalganj, Bihar. In this, 1,021 people sat together and read books for two hours. Through this the message was given that everything can be achieved only through books.
People had reached the reading marathon with books of their choice. Those who did not bring the book, bought the book from the book stall and read it. During this, everyone’s mobile phones were switched off.
The Panchdeori Reading Marathon Club of Gopalganj organized this event at the Higher Secondary School premises located at Jamunahan in Panchdeori block. Writer Sarvesh Tiwari Shrimukh and motivational speaker Amresh Jha from Jharkhand also participated in this.
In the reading marathon, DM Dr. Naval Kishore Chowdhary said that we always get to learn new things from books. In today’s time also, books are the first means and medium to reach a person to his destination. A person gets 60 years of experience by reading a book. If a person reads 20 books in life, then he gets 1200 years of experience in his life.
Writer Sarvesh Tiwari Shrimukh said that literature is the mirror of the society. Personality improves only by studying literature. That’s why we should study literature.

Motivational speaker from Jharkhand Amresh Jha said that books are the medium to teach us values, civilization, art of living and humanity. Representatives of the Panchdeori Reading Marathon Club said that after mobiles reached every hand all over the world, people’s interest in newspapers and books has waned. The purpose of this program is to motivate people who are getting distracted from books to reconnect with books.
