Union Home Minister Amit Shah will be on a tour of West Bengal on Tuesday. He will begin the tour in the morning by paying homage at the statue of Gurudev Rabindranath Tagore at Jorasanko Thakurbari in Kolkata. May 9 is the birth anniversary of Gurudev Rabindranath Tagore, who composed the national anthem.

Shah will later lay the foundation stone and inaugurate some development projects of the Land Port Authority of India (LPAI) and BSF at the Integrated-Check Post (ICP) Petrapole in West Bengal’s North 24 Parganas, located on the India-Bangladesh border.

ICP Petrapole, located on the international border between India and Bangladesh, is the largest land port in South Asia. It is situated at a distance of about 80 km from Kolkata city of West Bengal.

In the evening, the Home Minister will attend a program related to the release of the full dome film ‘Luminaries of Bengal’ at Science City, Kolkata. Shah’s West Bengal tour will end with his participation in a function organized by Khola Hawa to mark the birth anniversary of Rabindranath Tagore at the Science City in Kolkata.
