According to a LiveLaw report, a bench headed by Tapi district sessions judge SV Vyas was hearing a case related to cow smuggling. In August 2022, Mohammad Amin Arif Anjum was arrested on charges of smuggling 16 cows. The court has imposed life imprisonment and a fine of 5 lakhs on Amin.

During this, Judge SV Vyas said that cow is not just an animal, but a mother. Cow is the planet of 68 crore holy places and 33 crore deities. If the cow is unhappy then our wealth and property will be destroyed.

He also linked climate change to cow slaughter. SV Vyas said that if cow slaughter is stopped then all the problems of the earth will end. Unless cow slaughter is stopped completely, there will be no respite from climate change.
