The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government has reached the Supreme Court against Punjab Governor BL Purohit. The governor had not given the approval of the budget session to the government. Against which the government led by CM Bhagwant Mann has filed a petition.

In this case, the cabinet had approved the budget session but the governor did not approve it. The Governor had objected to CM Bhagwant Mann’s answers to his questions and said that he would take legal opinion in this regard.

Punjab Governor Banwarilal Purohit has termed the letter written to him by CM Punjab Bhagwant Mann as unconstitutional and derogatory. Also said that he will take legal opinion in the matter and only after that will reply to his letter.

Significantly, Governor Banwarilal Purohit and CM Bhagwant Mann had come face to face with each other on the issue of sending government teachers of Punjab to Singapore for training. Without taking the name of the Governor, CM Mann had also said tauntingly that the decisions of Punjab will be taken by the elected people, not the selected ones.

You have asked me on what basis the teachers have been selected for training in Singapore? The people of Punjab want to ask, on what basis the Governors are elected in different states by the Central Government without any specific qualification in the Indian Constitution.
