Justice Gaurang Kanth took oath as a judge of the Calcutta High Court on July 21.

A letter from former Delhi High Court and current Calcutta High Court judge Justice Gaurang Kanth has gone viral. In which Justice Kanth wrote to the Delhi Police Commissioner that the security guard posted at his house should be suspended. Because of his carelessness his pet dog got lost.

This letter of Justice Kanth is dated 12th June. He has recently been transferred to the Calcutta High Court. In June, he was a judge in the Delhi High Court. A police officer associated with the matter said that later Justice Kanth had said that he did not want any action against the security personnel.

Justice Kanth wrote- “I am writing this letter with immense pain and anguish. Due to the inefficiency of the security guards of my official bungalow, I have lost my pet dog. Despite repeatedly asking them to keep the door locked, the officers posted at my house have failed to comply with my instructions and discharge their duty. Such negligence needs immediate attention as it may pose a serious threat to my life.”

CJI Chandrachud has given advice regarding government facilities
Justice Kanth’s letter has come to the fore at a time when Chief Justice of India DY Chandrachud had recently advised all judges regarding government facilities. In fact, on July 14, a judge of the Allahabad High Court wrote a letter to the Regional Manager of the Railways. In this, he had sought answers from the Railways for not getting the facilities. CJI Chandrachud had expressed his displeasure when this letter came to the fore.
