Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan releasing the list of candidates from Karnataka at the BJP Headquarters in New Delhi.

The BJP on Tuesday night released the list of 189 candidates for the Karnataka Assembly elections. There are only eight women in it. There are 32 from OBC, 30 from SC, 16 from ST and 5 are advocates. CM Bommai will contest from Shiggaon. Releasing the list, Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan said that the party has given a chance to the new generation in politics. The party will release the second list of candidates soon.

BY Vijayendra, son of former CM BS Yediyurappa, will contest from his father’s Shikaripura constituency. BJP national general secretary CT Ravi will contest from his traditional Chikmagalur seat. Minister R Ashok will contest against state Congress chief DK Shivakumar in Kanakapura. Apart from this, he will also contest from Padmanabhnagar seat.

Similarly, minister V Somanna will contest from Varuna against former Congress chief minister Siddaramaiah. The party has also given him a ticket from Chamarajanagar. Health Minister Dr. Sudhakar K. Minister Dr. Ashwathnarayan will contest from Chikkaballapur seat and CN Malleswaram seat.

Former CM Jagadish Shettar is angry for not getting the ticket. He has announced to contest the elections. The party said that they would be persuaded.

Senior leader KS Eshwarappa refused to contest elections
Karnataka BJP’s senior leader KS Eshwarappa has written a letter to the party’s national president JP Nadda. He has ruled out contesting the upcoming assembly elections in the state. He said that I had told about my decision in the Karnataka BJP election committee meeting held in Bengaluru, but party leaders Prahlad Joshi, Nalin Kumar Kateel and other leaders had rejected my decision.

The meeting was held on Sunday to decide the names of the candidates.

A meeting of the Central Election Committee was held at the BJP headquarters in Delhi on Sunday to finalize the names of the candidates. The top leadership of BJP attended the meeting. In which all senior leaders including PM Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, BJP President JP Nadda, Karnataka CM Basavaraj Bommai, Rajnath Singh and BJP General Secretary BL Santosh were present.

Voting will be held on 10th, results will come on 13th May
Assembly elections in Karnataka will be held on May 10. The results will come on 13 May. Voting will be done in one phase. Karnataka has 5.21 crore voters, who will vote in 224 assembly seats. Those who will be 18 years old on April 1 will also be able to vote. Read full news…
