Karnataka CM Basavaraj Bommai and Union Minister Shobha Karandlaje recited Hanuman Chalisa a day before Karnataka elections.

Voting will be held for 224 assembly seats in Karnataka on May 10. The result will come after two days i.e. on 13th May. May 8 was the last day of campaigning. On behalf of the Congress, Rahul and Priyanka Gandhi did rallies and roadshows till the last day of the campaign. On the other hand, on behalf of the BJP, Prime Minister Narendra Modi did the last rally-road show on May 7. The phase of rhetoric that started with snakes, Bajrangdal and then Bajrangbali reached the sovereignty dispute after Sonia Gandhi’s only Hubli rally on 6th May. A day before the Karnataka assembly elections, there was again a controversy over Bajrang Bali in the state. Union Minister and BJP leader Shobha Karandlaje also recited the Hanuman Chalisa at Veera Anjaneya Temple in Bengaluru, Karnataka. For which the Election Commission has sent a notice to him.

Earlier in Bengaluru, members of Bajrang Dal and Vishwa Hindu Parishad came to recite Hanuman Chalisa but were stopped by Election Commission officials. The Election Commission stopped him from reciting Hanuman Chalisa citing Section 144 applicable in the state.

Supreme Court gave instructions regarding 4% Muslim quota
The SC has taken a serious note of the political statements being made on the matter relating to the withdrawal of 4% Muslim quota in Karnataka. The court said that in cases where the order is issued by the court, its dignity should be maintained. The court extended the interim order not to implement the decision to abolish the 4 percent Muslim quota in Karnataka till the next hearing.

Let us tell you that on April 13, the Karnataka government had decided to end the 4% Muslim quota for Muslims. Later the matter reached the court and the court had objected to the manner in which minorities were classified as Economically Weaker Sections (EWS). The court had said that the process of making the decision is unstable and flawed and directed it not to be implemented. The next hearing of the matter is to be held in July.

A day before voting in Karnataka, PM Modi has released a video message to the people of Karnataka. He appealed to the people to vote for the BJP to make the state number one in investment, innovation and industry.

Election Commission notice to Kharge and Karnataka BJP President
The Election Commission on Tuesday issued a notice to Karnataka BJP President Nalin Kumar Kateel. Nalin has received this notice on Monday for releasing an ad making different claims about the Congress. Not only this, the Election Commission had also issued a notice to Congress chief Mallikarjun Kharge seeking clarification on Sonia Gandhi’s ‘Karnataka sovereignty’ remark.
